'Iced Over' praise and press

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show at The Cedar on Feb. 9th!  Leading up to the show we had a lot of great press in our local newspapers, blogs and even a spot on TV!  Below is a collection of the interviews, press releases and links to all things 'Iced Over.'  Thanks for supporting Minnesota history and Tree Party!

"Luckily, in addition to being a highly creative homage, the album does more than just sustain itself on local pride. The smart instrumentation and thoughtful songwriting on the album should make for a highly enjoyable listen, regardless of the listener’s state residence."

- KT Lindemann, Local Current Blog

"When it comes to local music, it doesn't get much more 'Mi-neh-soh-tan' than this."

Rena Sarigianopoulos, KARE 11

"After all of the research was compiled, I let the stories fight for my attention. The ones that I couldn't stop thinking about, and needing to know more about details were the ones that won in the end."

Joey Ford, in an interview with Youa Vang (Gimme Noise, City Pages)

"Oh, that's a very pretty song!"

- Cathy Wurzer, MPR News (in reference to 'The Root Beer Lady')

"On Iced Over the quintet skates gracefully across genres as needed to fit the feel of each of the album’s characters, matching Wrinkle Meat’s grandeur as perfectly as they capture the despair of Chris E. Herschberger, whose ghost haunts the Calumet Inn in Pipestone."

Dave Hoenack, Hymie's Vintage Records

"...it feels like a lefse-wrapped embrace — each warble of Ford’s falsetto rings true to the stories Tree Party spins."

- Joe Kellen, Minnesota Daily

"All of the tracks are based on actual Minnesotans. I love that."
